A new McDonald’s Restaurant in Brisbane’s inner south east will open early next year, generating more than 100 new jobs.Experienced McDonald’s licensee Rod Morris said the new restaurant next to a Caltex service station at the $250m Rivermakers business park on Lytton Rd, Morningside, will include a dual lane drive-through, McCafe, as well as a brand new dining room and ample carparking. The McDonald’s is within The Depot precinct — a homemaker and trade centre hub developed by the BMI Group — as part of the estate.
Mr Morris said the restaurant will employ around 120 locals from the region across a mix of full-time, part-time and casual roles including crew, management, baristas and maintenance.“At McDonald’s we have a focus on offering our employees outstanding development opportunities and each year we invest millions of dollars into training,” he said.
“As a Registered Training Organisation for over 20 years, in addition to our great internal training courses, we’re also able to offer nationally recognised traineeships and qualifications.
“In opening this new restaurant, I’ve been able to provide eight employees from my Cannon Hill store with an opportunity to step into managerial roles.”Mr Morris said about 100 tradespeople have been engaged to build the store on a 1700sq m site.
